According to a September 2023 United States Census Bureau report, a staggering 26 million people are uninsured; per a January 2024 Forbes article, 43% of working-age adults are inadequately insured. Every month our helpline counselors answer 2,200+ calls from such vulnerable individuals seeking affordable healthcare.

In their honor, this month, we’ve kicked off our Keep Us Talking fundraiser to ensure our helpline remains free of charge. This campaign isn’t just about a toll-free phone number; it’s about tearing down barriers that block the path to wellness:

Limited finances

Many individuals who utilize services like NeedyMeds are already facing financial hardship due to medical expenses. Charging for the helpline could exacerbate their financial burden, potentially forcing them to forgo essential medications or treatments.

Not everyone has access to the internet or may not be comfortable navigating online resources. The NeedyMeds free helpline provides a more accessible avenue for individuals to seek assistance and information about healthcare savings options.

Access to healthcare savings resources should be equitable for all individuals regardless of their socioeconomic status or access to technology. Our free helpline helps bridge the gap in access to healthcare information and services.

Lack of Support

Many vulnerable populations, such as low-income individuals, the elderly, and those with limited English proficiency, may face barriers in accessing healthcare savings resources. The NeedyMeds free helpline can provide personalized assistance and support to such populations.

Knowledge deficiency

Some people may not be aware of the various healthcare savings options available to them. Our free helpline can serve as a valuable educational resource by providing information and guidance on these programs.

Medication Non-Adherence

Affordability is a significant factor in medication adherence. By providing free assistance through the helpline, individuals are more likely to adhere to their medication regimens, leading to better health outcomes and reduced healthcare costs associated with untreated conditions or complications.

In the face of healthcare insecurity in our society, our commitment at NeedyMeds only grows stronger. With millions uninsured or inadequately covered, our helpline stands as a beacon of hope for those navigating the complexities of healthcare affordability. The launch of our Keep Us Talking fundraiser underscores our unwavering dedication to ensuring this lifeline remains freely accessible to all.
