NeedyMeds Appoints Pharmacy Industry Veteran Prasanna Parthasarathy to Board of Directors

Gloucester, Mass. –July 29, 2024 – NeedyMeds, a national non-profit organization that educates and empowers those seeking affordable healthcare, today announced the appointment of Prasanna Parthasarathy to its Board of Directors. Parthasarathy, a veteran of several companies focused on healthcare innovation, will support efforts to broaden NeedyMeds reach to benefit additional healthcare consumers, and spread the word about its mission.

NeedyMeds offers a range of healthcare consumer supports to improve access to affordable healthcare and medications through existing public and privately funded programs. In a typical year, NeedyMeds toll-free helpline and email box receive more than 25,000 inquiries. Since its inception in 2009, NeedyMeds has saved healthcare consumers more than $400 million in prescription drug costs.

Parthasarathy is Chief Executive Officer at Medvantx, Inc., a non-commercial dispensing pharmacy licensed in all 50 states and US territories including Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands. Prior to joining Medvantx in 2022, Parthasarathy held roles at GE Healthcare, Cardinal Health, CareFusion, BD, and WindRose Health Investors. Across these organizations, Parthasarathy focused on digital health and commercializing innovation to improve both healthcare worker and patient experiences. He holds degrees in engineering and computer engineering from University of Madras and Marquette University, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
